Anthony Vander is a British filmmaker and producer known for his contributions to independent cinema. An award-winning filmmaker, Vander became a full member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in 2023 in recognition of his impact on the film industry.

 

Vander's career began with the short film Hooligan, which was showcased at the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. His feature directorial debut, Sweetboy (2014), premiered at the American Black Film Festival in North America and later aired multiple times on London Live in 2017.

 

His fifth short film, Finale, was selected for the BAFTA-qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival in 2021. In 2025, Vander was appointed Festival Director of the Collective Film Festival London, an event dedicated to supporting underrepresented filmmakers seeking entry into the industry.

 

He is currently in post-production on Spar, a television pilot set to premiere in early 2025.
